TNT title qualifying matches to begin on AEW Rampage

A series of bouts to determine participants for a ladder match to crown a new TNT Champion will begin on Friday’s Rampage.

On Wednesday’s Dynamite, new storyline interim executive vice president Christopher Daniels announced a ladder match for the TNT title for Forbidden Door on June 30, with qualifying bouts to begin on Rampage. The TNT title is vacant after champion Adam Copeland was injured at Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

In the first qualifying match, Konosuke Takeshita will face Penta El Zero Miedo. Everyone is banned from ringside for the contest.

Three additional matches have also been announced for Friday’s Rampage.

Women’s World Champion Toni Storm will face Viva Van in a World title eliminator match on Friday’s show.

Satnam Singh in action, plus Kyle O’Reilly in action are also set for Friday. O’Reilly will also challenge Will Ospreay for the AEW International title on Saturday’s Collision.

Friday’s Rampage will air at the special start time of 6:30 p.m. Eastern time on TNT. The lineup:

  • TNT Championship qualifying match: Konosuke Takeshita vs. Penta El Zero Miedo
  • Women’s World title eliminator: Toni Storm vs. Viva Van
  • Satnam Singh in action
  • Kyle O’Reilly in action
