Tony Khan: AEW is interested in Katsuhiko Nakajima

It looks like there’s mutual interest between AEW and Katsuhiko Nakajima.

Nakajima, a two-time GHC Heavyweight Champion, announced last week that he’s departing Pro Wrestling NOAH. Nakajima’s final NOAH match will take place in his hometown of Fukuoka on Saturday, October 28.

At AEW’s post-WrestleDream media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about the possibility of bringing Nakajima in. Khan said he’s interested in Nakajima, and he’s heard Nakajima is interested in AEW as well.

“I am interested. And I’ve heard he’s interested too,” Khan responded. “Nakajima – very talented. And I think that would be great. He’d be a great fit here. I’ve heard he’s interested in coming. And we’d be interested in having him. Something to consider.”

In his final NOAH match, Nakajima will team with Go Shiozaki against Naomichi Marufuji & Takashi Sugiura.

Nakajima is also a former GHC Tag Team Champion, National Champion, and Junior Heavyweight Champion.

In 2016, Nakajima was an entrant in NJPW’s G1 Climax tournament.
