Tony Khan comments on start time of future AEW pay-per-views
AEW could start running more early start time pay-per-views in the future.
AEW’s last three pay-per-views, All In, Forbidden Door, and All Out, have all started in the afternoon Eastern Time. At the All Out post-event presser, Tony Khan was asked about potentially making that a permanent move, with the reporter noting the earlier start time makes it more convenient for fans in the UK.
Khan responded:
“It’s been tremendous for three straight pay-per-views. I think the point you’re making is definitely something I take into consideration.”
“And we’ve had great results, great buys from the UK, the TV ratings in the UK are through the roof,” he added.
“And I’m really glad you asked that because that’s absolutely one of the considerations we’ve thought about here. And whether it’s Saturday or Sunday, it’s definitely giving me something to think about.”
Earlier in the presser, Khan was asked about the decision to have All Out kickoff with FTR vs. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage opening the show. Khan responded that having such a big match advertised as on at 3 p.m. created an urgency around the pay-per-view.
Khan said:
“I thought it was a great way to start the show. I also thought when you’re doing something special with a start time of 3:00 PM Eastern, noon Pacific, having a milestone and a match that you can set the time and say, look, that’s when this is going on. I think it created an urgency around the pay-per-view to put such an important historic match in that prominent position, if that makes sense.”
Khan’s full appearance at the AEW All Out 2025 post-event press conference is available below. His answer to a question from Poisonrana’s Davie Portman about future PPV start times comes in around the 12 minute 10 second mark.
