Tony Khan: TV taping attendance voluntary for AEW talent affected by Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian is forcing mandatory evacuations in Florida.

AEW talent affected by Hurricane Ian will not be required to travel to this week's Dynamite and Rampage TV taping, according to Tony Khan.

AEW's owner, president, and head of creative, Khan tweeted on Monday that in case anyone affected had missed the company-wide email, attendance at Wednesday's taping in Philadelphia would be voluntary.

Khan tweeted:

Currently a Category 2 hurricane, Ian is forcing mandatory evacuations in Western Florida, including the Tampa area. Ian is expected to hit major hurricane status (winds of 111 miles per hour or higher) before it reaches the United States.

According to a CNN report, more than 15 million people in the US will encounter at least tropical storm-force winds from Ian, citing residents of Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee, Florida among those who will be affected.

The Tampa area is currently under a hurricane warning, with impact from the storm expected within the next 24 to 36 hours.
