Tony Khan responds to post telling him that ‘WWE is gonna bring you down’
Tony Khan has a blunt reply to the assumption that WWE is going to take him down.
On social media Saturday, a person wrote to Khan writing “WWE is gonna bring you down and close shop can’t wait.” Khan replied with a gif of Patrick Stewart with a short reply: “That will be the day.”
The post comes as WWE is taking aggressive moves to counter AEW, especially Khan agreed to a new television deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. WWE flooded the zone during All In weekend last month with a Saturday Night’s Main Event featuring Goldberg’s last match on the same day as AEW’s biggest show of the year, as well as holding the second-ever all women PLE Evolution the following day.
WWE isn’t done with the counter-programming, as new reports indicate they are looking to go head-to-head with All Out by promoting a new PLE next month with the headline attraction being a John Cena/Brock Lesnar match. Another report says they could counter Worlds End with Cena’s final match.
Another factor in the battle between AEW and WWE may be TNA, who is looking for a new media rights deal. A recent report detailed that TNA could move to Wednesdays on The CW to counter Dynamite.
