Tony Khan thinks Sting’s son Steven is going to be a ‘tremendous wrestler’
Tony Khan believes Sting’s son Steven Borden has a bright future in professional wrestling.
After debuting in October 2025, Borden is now nine months into his wrestling career. He regularly competes in dark matches at AEW events but, ahead of his eventual debut, has been kept off AEW television so far. Outside of AEW, Borden has worked a few events for Defy Wrestling and a show for Maple Leaf Pro.
Khan appeared on a new episode Power Players with Brian Sozzi and addressed the progress Borden is making.
“We’re training Sting’s son, Steven, right now,” Khan said. “He wrestles before all the shows in what we call the ‘dark match.’ And I think he’s going to be a tremendous wrestler. I’m really, really proud of the work he’s doing.”

Before their father’s retirement tour, neither Steven nor Garrett Borden had an interest in pursuing wrestling as a career. That changed when they participated in the end of Sting’s AEW run. Now both Borden brothers are competing in the ring. Steven is further along, but Garrett debuted for Dustin Rhodes’ Rhodes Wrestling Association this May and recently worked a match for Dream Pro Wrestling.
Steven Borden played football in high school/college and worked in the fitness industry before becoming a wrestler.
Khan told Power Players that Sting is one of his favorite wrestlers of all time, and he thinks Sting’s work in AEW is one of the highlights of the promotion’s history.
