"Punk injury, believed to be from the tope, is serious. Rumors from Sunday but he hadn't confirmed them but it's been confirmed to me no matter what happens discipline-wise that the title situation has to be changed and addressed tonight," he wrote.
Meltzer also revealed that AEW World Trios Champions, Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks, have been suspended due to the backstage altercation with Punk and Ace Steel on Sunday.
"Everyone involved in the brawl is now officially suspended, Bucks, Omega, plus Pat Buck, Christopher Daniels, Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa. Ace Steel was also taken off and Punk's situation should be clear soon. It's all pending the completion of the investigation," his post reads.
