Will Ospreay to face Powerhouse Hobbs on AEW Dynamite

Will Ospreay is facing off against another one of his Don Callis Family stablemates.

AEW has announced that Ospreay vs. Powerhouse Hobbs will take place on Dynamite next Wednesday (April 3). Don Callis will be on commentary for the match.

Tony Khan is billing Ospreay vs. Hobbs as “A Battle of Wills.”

This will be the third time that Ospreay has wrestled one of his Don Callis Family stablemates in AEW. He’s already defeated Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher over the last few weeks.

With victories over Takeshita, Fletcher, and Katsuyori Shibata, Ospreay has a 3-0 record since starting full-time with AEW.

AEW is building toward a dream match between Ospreay and Bryan Danielson. It will take place at AEW’s Dynasty pay-per-view in St. Louis on Sunday, April 21.

Hobbs & Fletcher lost to Best Friends (Trent Beretta & Orange Cassidy) in an AEW Tag Team title tournament wildcard round match on Rampage last Friday.

Next Wednesday’s Dynamite is being held at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Here’s what’s been announced for the episode so far:

  • Contract signing for Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland’s AEW World Championship match at Dynasty
  • AEW Tag Team title tournament semifinal match: The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) vs. Best Friends (Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta)
  • Will Ospreay vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
