William Regal segment announced for AEW Dynamite

This week’s Dynamite may provide an explanation for why William Regal turned against Jon Moxley.

AEW has announced that we’ll hear from Regal on Dynamite this Wednesday night. It will be the first time Regal has spoken publicly since helping MJF win the AEW World Championship from Moxley in the main event of Full Gear.

MJF pinned Moxley at Full Gear after Regal gave him brass knuckles to use as a weapon. Regal, who has been the manager of Blackpool Combat Club, had accompanied Moxley to the ring for the match.

Dave Meltzer reported that the finish of the Full Gear main event was Tony Khan’s idea:

The main event finish with William Regal handing MJF Brass Knux was Tony Khan’s idea and you can look back at the last several weeks of the build-up and see the signs leading to it. It appears from the press conference that MJF and Regal will be a heel champion pairing not unlike Kenny Omega and Don Callis.

This Wednesday’s Thanksgiving Eve episode of Dynamite is being held at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Here’s what’s been announced for the episode:

  • ROH World Champion Chris Jericho defends against Tomohiro Ishii
  • AEW World title eliminator tournament finals: Ethan Page vs. Ricky Starks
  • AEW All-Atlantic Champion Orange Cassidy defends against Jake Hager
  • Match two in Death Triangle and The Elite’s best-of-seven series for the AEW Trios titles
  • We’ll hear from William Regal
