Willow Nightingale wins AEW TBS Championship on New Year’s Smash Dynamite, makes history

Willow Nightingale wins AEW TBS Championship

Willow Nightingale has finally done it and was crowned the brand new AEW TBS Champion on the New Year’s Smash Dynamite episode.

Tonight on the December 31st episode of Dynamite, Nightingale defeated Mone in a nearly 15-minute bout to capture the TBS Championship after a wait of almost 584 days. The finish included several close calls and violent moments, including a suplex on the announcer’s desk. However, despite all the adversities, Nightingale fought back and secured the victory after executing the Babe with the Powerbomb move on Mone.

Tonight’s victory marked Nightingale’s second AEW TBS Championship victory. She first held the title from April 21, 2024, to May 26, 2024, before Mone defeated her to win the title. She is also one-half of the AEW Tag Team Champions alongside Harley Cameron and created history tonight by becoming the first woman to hold two AEW titles simultaneously.

After the match concluded, members of the Conglomeration, Harley Cameron, Speedball Mike Bailey, and Kevin Knight all came out to celebrate with Nightingale. Her former rival Kris Statlander also came out before hugging the new champion to close Dynamite New Year’s Smash.

Mone was on a roll since last year, winning championships at a rapid pace. However, starting in December 2025, her downhill journey began when she lost the ROH Women’s World Television Champion, RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Champion, and now the TBS title in rapid succession.
