Women’s Championship match confirmed for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Thekla vs. Starlight Kid set for Forbidden Door

A new match is confirmed for Forbidden Door.

Thekla will defend the AEW Women’s Championship on June 28 in San Jose against Stardom’s Starlight Kid. This comes after Thekla has spent weeks disparaging her former promotion, wishing death upon it and repeatedly calling out their president Taro Okada.

As Tony Schaivone was apologizing for Thekla’s recent comments on Saturday’s Collision, the Women’s Champion arrived and cut off Schaivone, telling him to shut his mouth. She brought up that Stardom had fired her, but look at her now – she is on top of the wrestling world. She gave Stardom a gift as everyone was talking about them. She invited the promotion to bring their best for Forbidden Door, as they can bear witness to the monster that they created.

Later, a brief Starlight Kid video package aired. Immediately after, Thekla was asked for comments. She seemed unfazed, saying she knew Starlight Kid and the blood of Stardom would soon be on her hands.
