Women’s World title match set for next week’s Ring of Honor TV
A Women’s World Championship match is set for the May 11 episode of Ring of Honor TV.
As announced during this week’s show, Athena will defend the Women’s World title against Skye Blue on next week’s episode.
Athena defeated Angelica Risk in a Proving Ground match on this week’s show, then called out Skye Blue. Later in the episode, Blue answered the callout in a backstage promo segment, challenging Athena to a title bout for next week. Athena then responded to the challenge in a separate backstage promo later, accepting the match and noting that it will take place next week.
Blue has won four consecutive singles matches in ROH, and remains undefeated overall in ROH with a 5-0 total record. Blue also defeated Adena Steele in a dark match at this week’s AEW Dynamite taping.
Athena is 11-0 in ROH, and has held the Women’s World title since defeating Mercedes Martinez for the gold at Final Battle last December.
