Charlotte Flair names the Four Horsewomen as her Mount Rushmore

Charlotte Flair considers WWE’s Four Horsewomen her Mount Rushmore of wrestlers.

Flair was part of the group during her NXT tenure. On Episode 4 of the Complex Graps Wrestling Podcast, Flair cited that without the Four Horsewomen she would not have the same passion for wrestling. They inspired each other to level up their game in the ring.

“I always say the Four Horsewomen just because they’re who and why I fell in love with wrestling. Not that I didn’t respect or love or look up to the women before me, had I not, we all have kind of gone our separate paths, but had I not been with that core when I started, I don’t know where I’d be today. They’re the reason why I fell in love with wrestling, got good at wrestling, and we all took it to the next level together. So, that’s my four.”

The Four Horsewomen of NXT comprised of Flair, Bayley, Becky Lynch and Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks in WWE). Their time on NXT led to the evolution of the women’s division on the main roster by 2015.

Flair talked about the rushed tag team with Alexa Bliss on SmackDown last year. She cited the transition from a singles competitor to a tag team did not budge her stance on wrestling.

“It’s not that I never thought it would be successful, but I mean I like wrestling. I like being in there. I like being in there the whole time and I like being able, you know, to dance with my opponent. So, in any tag team situation that I’ve been in since I started, not that it hasn’t gelled, but it hasn’t been like I maybe, I mean it didn’t have the chemistry or it wasn’t given the time to get the chemistry or whatever that looks like. But with Lexi, it just seems like one of those, you know, the best things are the ones that you don’t plan. And this wasn’t planned and it was out of nowhere. So, I think that’s why it’s doing so well.”

Flair and Bliss’unlikely pairing happened last year despite their contrasting personalities. The duo won the Women’s Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam 2025. However, this was not Flair’s first time winning tag team gold. In 2020, she won the title with Asuka.

Barring Mone, who is signed to AEW, the other three ‘horsewomen’ remaining in WWE are vying for gold this WrestleMania.

Bliss & Flair and Bayley’s tag team with Lyra Valkyria are headed for a potential tag team bout. Meanwhile, Lynch’s mindgames were successful to get AJ Lee to issue a rematch for the Women’s Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 42.
