Cody Rhodes sees WWE potential in Erling Haaland: ‘We could do a cousin thing’
Cody Rhodes believes some of the world’s biggest athletes and Hollywood stars could have a future inside the wrestling ring.
Rhodes talked about his role as Guile in the upcoming Street Fighter movie on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The WWE star recalled his interview with Tom Brady on his podcast and was asked about athletes and celebrities with the potential to become WWE wrestlers. He was particularly asked about Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland, actor Tom Holland and Jason Momoa.
“(Erling Haaland) A supreme athlete, and with the hair, we could do a cousin thing, cause in wrestling, we’re all, we’re related, so he could be my ‘cuz’,” teased Rhodes.
Rhodes exclaimed that Tom Holland is ‘a treasure’ so ideally he would not want him in a wrestling ring.
“That one, I’d say, let’s steer clear. This is why, he’s making all the movies that we enjoy. And my children like his movies, as well, so I don’t, wouldn’t want, we can’t hurt Tom (Holland). He’s a treasure.”
About Travis Kelce, Rhodes cited his brother, Jason, was already associated with WWE at WrestleMania 40 and could possibly work together as a tag team.
“Oh. I mean, but he’s already plugged in naturally. Not only that, because his brother. So they’d have to do a tag-team. The Kelce Brothers, I mean, premium athletes. So you don’t have to worry, tag-team action.
Rhodes highlighted that he already perceived his Street Fighter co-star Jason Momoa as a wrestler.
“Oh, yeah, also in Street Fighter. I feel, I kind of think he’s already a wrestler. Yeah, he’s got a real Bruiser Brody, Andre the Giant, just go town to town, have the match, cerveza after. The energy, Jason’s already a wrestler.”
Roman Reigns and Momoa have often been linked due to their similar looks and physical appearances.
Street Fighter is slated for release on October 16, 2026 and features an array of cast from Hollywood and beyond.
