California producer, former WWE creative team member Joe Franciosi passes away
Joe Franciosi, who was part of the creative team for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, passed away earlier today from a heart attack.
Franciosi had worked for WWE in creative several years back, once doing a segment where he took out his fake eye.
He started his tenure in wrestling working for Rick Bassman’s UPW promotion.
A number of Southern California wrestlers posted on it.
“He was brutally honest in a business full of lairs and thieves,” wrote Joey Ryan. “Some faulted him for it. I admired it. RIP to a good friend.”
“Lost another good brother way too early,” wrote Frankie Kazarian. “RIP Joe Franciosi. thanks for more than 15 years of friendship.”
