UFC on FOX ratings

The overnight ratings for last night's show were 2.43 million viewers and a 0.9 in the 18-49 demo.

It did almost identical to the New York Ranger vs. Pittsburgh Penguins game on NBC head-to-head that did 2.41 million viewers and the same 0.9 key demo rating.

ABC and CBS did far more viewers, but not as much in the key demos.

As compared with last year, which has stronger undercard stars and far less sports competition (NBA, NHL, plus HBO & Showtime Boxing) than this year, the audience was up 22 percent based on the overnights.

The overnights measure FOX from 8-10 p.m. Eastern, 7-9 p.m. Central and 6-8 p.m. Mountain time, but also 8-10 p.m. Pacific time. So it measured what was on FOX in prime time, while the UFC aired at 5 p.m. So the final numbers on Monday or Tuesday will include the West Coast and be a little higher.

Essentially this year's main event proved to be a lot stronger than Werdum vs. Browne last year.
