Impact notes: Zachary Wentz returns, next week’s lineup

After several years away, Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz has returned to Impact Wrestling.

During Chris Sabin’s X-Division title match against Trey Miguel Thursday, Sabin was aiming to finish him off with his Cradle Shock finisher when Wentz hit the ring and cause a DQ. The two continued to beat down Sabin until Alex Shelley ran out to make the save.

The two later did a backstage promo that they were back and were here to take what’s theirs.

Wentz had been gone from Impact since November 2020. Known as Nash Carter in WWE NXT, the former NXT Tag Team Champion was released in 2022 after past photos of him dressed as Adolf Hitler emerged. After apologizing, he eventually returned to the indies.

Impact announced two matches for next Thursday’s show with more to come.

In a preview of the Ultimate X match made for next month’s Slammiversary, Jonathan Gresham will take on Angels.

In the other, Frankie Kazarian will do battle with Eddie Edwards. The two wrestled for the first time at Against All Odds with Kazarian picking up the victory. After teaming up last week against Bully Ray & Steve Maclin, with disastrous results, Edwards suggested this week that they were better off as opponents instead.
