According to Moose, there were plans in place for him to feud with CM Punk when the former was TNA World Champion.

The reigning TNA X-Division Champion told the story on X Wednesday night, saying, “So while I was World Champ there were plans of Punk coming to TNA and us feuding. Punk vs Lesnar from SS2013 is one of my favorites matches ever. I was looking forward to recreating something just as awesome. But Obviously it never happened but who Knows. Shout out to CM Punk GOAT.”

Moose held the TNA (then Impact) World title from October 2021 through April 2022 and then from January 2024 through July 2024. During the first reign, Punk was in AEW and during the second, he was in WWE but injured following that year’s Royal Rumble. It’s unclear what reign he was referring to and who were discussing the plans.

With WWE and TNA in the midst of a multi-year deal that includes talent crossing over between NXT and TNA with the occasional main roster appearance, the door is potentially open for that match to still happen.

Moose was unsuccessful in defeating NXT Champion Oba Femi on this past Tuesday’s NXT. He will face Jeff Hardy in a ladder match for the X-Division title at this Friday’s TNA Genesis.
