Moose earns Impact World title shot by saying ‘I Quit’ at Genesis

In a twist, Moose earned a future shot at Impact World Champion Rich Swann despite losing to Willie Mack in an “I Quit” match at Saturday’s Genesis on Impact Plus.

In the show’s main event, Moose had Mack knocked out following several elbows, rendering him unable to say “I quit.” Moose was preparing to “Pillmanize” Mack’s neck when Swann ran out and asked him to stop. Moose initially refused, resulting in Swann pleading with him and offering him a title shot he had wanted for some time. Moose said the magic words and Mack won as a result.

Swann will be part of a six-man tag at next Saturday’s Hard To Kill pay-per-view, teaming with the Motor City Machine Guns against AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Impact Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers.

The Genesis show also saw the crowning of the first Super X-Cup winner since 2017 as Ace Austin defeated Blake Christian in the finals of the one night, eight-man tournament.
