TNA extends contracts of commentary team

Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt are sticking around as the voices of TNA Wrestling.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, TNA President Carlos Silva confirmed that the promotion has extended the contracts of Hannifan and Rehwoldt. The two anchor TNA’s broadcast team with Hannifan serving as the play-by-play voice of the company and Rehwoldt working alongside him as the color commentator.

The Takedown says the length of their renewals is not known at this time.

“Silva told The Takedown on SI in a new interview to be dropped later this week that the company recently extended Hannifan and Rehwoldt’s contracts. The length of the renewals is unclear,” the article said. “He also noted McKenzie Mitchell will remain in her role as the promotion’s ring announcer.”

Both Hannifan and Rehwoldt formerly worked for WWE, where they were known as Tom Phillips and Aiden English prior to their respective releases. Rehwoldt transitioned to commentary near the end of his WWE run before later making it his full-time focus.

The two have been TNA’s commentary team since 2022. Hannifan recently got emotional speaking about how hard everyone in TNA works trying to make the promotion great.

TNA is on the road to Bound for Glory 2025, with the pay-per-view set to take place in Lowell, Massachusetts on October 12.
