**********

LIVE! in Baltimore, Maryland.

Countdown to Emergence.

Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt were on commentary.

Indi Hartwell defeated Rosemary

The stream was terrible and it made the match impossible to watch. Dani Luna kept Rosemary from misting Hartwell again, and Hartwell hit the Hurts Donut to get the pinfall.

–In the back, Moose and Sami Callahan have a moment over energy drinks, but I can’t hear what’s going on because of the streaming issues. Maybe switching to YouTube will help.

Ryan Nemeth v. LOST SIGNAL STAY TUNED.

Well, maybe not. Okay let’s try again.

Home Town Man defeated Ryan Nemeth

The Home Town Man will be channeling his childhood hero, Cal Ripken Jr. The YouTube ads have no trouble playing in split-screen while the TNA feed continues to sputter.  The Home Town Man hit a TKO for a near fall. Nemeth hit a leaping DDT for a near fall. The Home Town Man won with a rollup. That was what I was able to catch in between the stream freezing multiple times. Also, Hannifan bragged about TNA selling out the lower bowl of the arena. Probably should have thrown some of that ticket money to upgrading the internet connection.

– While running down the live card in front of the crowd, the only thing that got a noticeable pop was the Hardys match.

Emergence Main Show

Leon Slater defeated Cedric Alexander to retain  the X Division Championship (14:31)

Alexander took Staler down with an STO on the ring apron. Back in the ring, Alexander hit a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Alexander worked over Slater’s back with kicks. Slater tried for a handspring back elbow, but his back seized up on him and Alexander caught him with a German suplex. Alexander maintained control of the match with a deliberate pace.

Alexander stomped down Slater in the corner. Slater turned Alexander inside out with a desperation lariat. Slater went down low with a dropkick to the knee that sent Alexander into the middle turnbuckle. Slater hit a crossbody for a near fall, but Slater’s back was still in bad shape.

Slater tried to pick up Alexander, but his back gave out and Alexander hit a powerbomb and fisherman’s brainbuster for a near fall. Alexander went for the Lumbar Check, but Slater held him off by grabbing the ropes. Alexander sat Slater up on the turnbuckles for a superplex, but Slater reversed it into a twisting superplex. Slater went for a 450, but Alexander got his knees up and both guys were down.

Slater got to his feet and went after Alexander’s knee, but Alexander hit a trifecta of German suplexes. Alexander went for the Lumbar Check again, but Slater escaped and both guys exchanged cradles for near falls. Slater backdropped Alexander to the floor, and then followed him out with his 450 dive over the ringpost! The crowd popped huge for that.

Back in the ring, Slater went for the Swanton 450 but Alexander escaped and hit a Spanish Fly. Alexander tried for the Lumbar check again, but Slater escaped and hit a Styles Clash! Slater then hit the Swanton 450 and got the pinfall. Started slow but really got going at the end.

After the match, the commentators gave Alexander and Slater a standing ovation. Alexander and Slater shook hands after the match.

– Trick Williams and First Class bragged about all the new TV deals TNA is getting thanks to them. Williams apologized to Mama Moose for involving her and for the whooping he’s about to give her son later tonight.

Matt Cardona defeated Mustafa Ali (w/ Order 4) (9:36)

Agent Zero did not look imposing at all when Cardona walked by him on his way to the ring. Also I must note the stream for the main show has been a lot better than the preshow stream.

Cardona turned Ali inside out with a clothesline and got a near fall after a flapjack. Cardona tossed Ali to the floor, and took John Skyler and Jason Hotch out with a dropkick. Ali caught Cardona with a superkick. He  tried to powerbomb Cardona through the commentator table, but Cardona backroped Ali to escape. Steelz distracted the referee, allowing Skyler to toss Cardona into a DDT on the floor from Ali.

Back in the ring, Ali hit a rolling neckbreaker for a near fall. Ali missed a standing skytwister press and ate a clothesline. Cardona hit a facebuster, then blocked a DDT to hit one of his own. Ali dropped to the floor to avoid the reboot, but Cardona caught him with a boot through the ropes on the floor. I’m surprised by how much of this match Cardona is taking.

Cardona went for Radio Silence, but Ali countered with a sitdown powerbomb for a near fall. Ali charged into Cardona and ate a boot. Hotch and Skyler ran in and interfered, allowing Ali to hit Cardona with a dropkick. Ali hit a 450 on Cardona, but laid back to do a cocky cover, and Cardona rolled him up in a crucifix for the pinfall.

After the match, Order 4 attacked Cardona. Agent Zero (who is supposed to be a monster but he’s basically a guy) laid out Cardona with a hanging tree slam. The System ran out to save Cardona. Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers clotheslined Zero to the floor where he landed on his feet. First Class came out to lead directly into the next match.

First Class (Rich Swann & AJ Francis) defeated Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers of the System (w/Alicia Edwards) (8:31)

Swann got tossed around by Edwards and Myers to start. Francis got the tag and dominated Myers. Myers caught Francis with a spear and got the tag to Edwards. Edwards set up Swann for a backpack stunner, but Francis avalanched him in the corner. Edwards hit a blue thunder bomb for a near fall. Francis sent Myers to the floor with a boot, then dropped Edwards with a pop up forearm. Francis went for a suplex, but Edwards reversed it. Edwards tried for the backpack stunner on Francis, but Francis blocked it. Order 4 ran in and attacked the System. Agent Zero (who looks like a cruiserweight next to Edwards) gave Edwards a hanging tree slam into the ring apron. Zero tossed Myers back in the ring, and Francis hit a chokeslam for the pinfall.

Joe Hendry is the guest commentator for the next match.

Mike Santana defeated Sami Callahan in a Baltimore Street Fight (11:21)

Callahan cut a promo before the match to wish his friends (who were in the crowd) a happy anniversary, and laid out the stakes for the match. Callahan asked for a Baltimore Street Fight, and Santana accepted.

Santana hit a pretty Asai moonsault on Callahan. Callahan blocked a piledriver and Santana hit a boot. Santana charged at Callahan, who backdropped him on the ramp. Sami found a chair and hit Santana with it. Callahan walked to the back (a fan literally shouted “bye!” at him) and came back with a trash can.

The match ended up back inside the ring where Callahan used an 8×10 of AJ Francis to give Santana a paper cut. Santana got the chair, but threw it down and Callahan hit him with a clothesline. Callahan pulled a stapler out of his trash can, and used a staple to Santana’s chest to block a sunset flip.

Callahan went low and grabbed Santana’s crotch, then hit a piledriver for a near fall. The crowd chanted for tables. Santana went for a rana off the middle rope, but Callahan blocked it and hit another piledriver for a near fall. Santana sent Callahan headfirst into a chair that had been propped up in the ropes and hit a cannonball for a near fall. Santana hit a rolling cutter but Callahan rolled out at one. Santana then gave Callahan a thumbs up(??) and then hit a discus lariat. They were trying to some of the”I’m sorry, I love you” drama from Flair/Michaels retirement match but it just wasn’t there. Callahan actually got his shoulder up before 3, but the ref counted three and everyone ignored the kick out. Which is fine, no one needed anymore of this match. Santana was wrestling himself out there, and it felt like there was an hour of deadtime between every offensive move from Callahan.

After the match, Callahan took off his boots and a few people chanted “Please Don’t Go.” He got the boots off, the crowd chanted “Thank you Sami!” and he rolled out of the ring.

– Tommy Dreamer is in the ring with Masha Slamovich, Jazz and Carlos Silva. After Xia Brookside & Léi Yǐng Lee come to the ring, Dreamer announced that Lee was being signed to a new TNA contract.

M and Heather by Elegance (w/ the Concierge & Ash by Elegance) defeated Cassie Lee and Jessie McCay of The IInspiration (w/ Mara Sadé) in a Four Corners Match to retain the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship which also included  Jazmyn Nyx & Fallon Henley of Fatal Influence (w/ Jacy Jayne) and Xia Brookside & Léi Yǐng Lee (11:24)

Lee got a near fall on Henley after a facebuster, but Jayne put Henley’s foot on the rope to break up the pinfall. This led to Jayne and Sadé getting into a fight in the ring, and Jayne took Sadé down with a rolling forearm. Slamovich and Ash ran in the ring and the three of them started brawling, which lead to the referee ejected the three of them. In all the chaos, Brookside and Lee came down with dives onto a bunch of their opponents on the floor.

Back in the ring, Cassie Lee caught M with a kick. After more nonsense, McCay hit a flying crossbody and Lee suplexed M by Elegance. The crowd chanted “this is awesome!” while all eight women were laid out. They all start to recover and hit each other with finishers. M hit Cassie Lee with a Knockouts title belt and got the pinfall. This was messy.

Steve Maclin defeated Jake Something to retain the TNA International Title in a No Disqualification, No Count-Out match (12:21)

Frankie Kazarian joined the commentary team for this match, since he has an interest in the next generation of TNA.

They immediately brawl to the floor for a bit. Back in the ring, both guys go down to a double clothesline. Other than a chant for tables, this match isn’t getting a reaction from the crowd. Something stepped on Maclin’s foot to keep him from running the ropes and leveled him with a forearm. Something shook the ropes wildly, but the crowd still didn’t react . Maclin escaped a powerbomb and hit an Angle Slam to send Something to the floor. Maclin went for a dive, but Something caught him with a forearm.

Something got into Kazarian’s face, then powerbombed Maclin onto the steel ring steps. Something dragged Maclin up the entrance ramp to the stage. Something set Maclin up for a powerbomb on the stage, but Maclin escaped with a back body drop. This match has very little heat, other than the occasional chant for tables. Maclin dove off the stage into Something, and they brawled back to the ring. Something missed a charge in the corner, and Maclin hung him upside down in the corner. Maclin went for a spear, but Something caught him – while hanging upside down – in a dragon sleeper! It took a minute, but Maclin fought out of the choke and hit three spears. Maclin hit a double underhook DDT and got the pinfall. They tried but the crowd wasn’t into it.

After the match, Gia Miller got some comments from Maclin at ringside. Frankie Kazarian got in Maclin’s face. Maclin challenged Kazarian to get in the ring, but Frankie walked away.

The Hardys defeated The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Myron Reed) to reatin the TNA World Tag Team Championship (11:53)

The crowd was into the Hardys, maybe more than anything else on this show (besides Trick Williams).  The size difference between the Hardys and the Rascalz almost looks like the size difference between The Acolytes and The Hardy Boyz and in 1999.

Matt worked Wentz over with a side headlock for a bit. Wentz escaped and hit a pair of dropkicks. Tags were made on both sides. The Hardys blocked superkicks from both Rascals and took them down with clotheslines. The Hardys hit a combo senton/legdrop on Wentz for a near fall. Jeff splashed Wentz for a near fall. Wentz dodged a charge from Matt and caught him with a knee, but Matt deleted Wentz’s head into the turnbuckles.

Jeff caught Wentz with a dropkick to the back of the head. Wentz finally escaped the Hardys and tagged in Reed, who caught Matt with a superkick. Reed caught Matt with a legdrop to the back of the neck for a near fall. The Rascalz double-teamed Matt, and Wentz worked a chinlock. Wentz did a handspring right into a side effect from Matt.

Tags were made on both sides, and Jeff floored Reed with a clothesline. Jeff hit a low dropkick and an elbow, then splashed Reed in the ropes. Jeff dropped Reed with a top rope superplex, but Wentz flew in with a Swanton, and Matt flew in with an elbow. The Hardys tried Poetry in Motion on both Rascalz, but they caught Jeff and dumped him on top of Matt!

Reed hit Jeff with a lung blower, and held him in place for Wentz to fly off the top with a double stomp. Went climbed to the top, but Matt dumped him to the floor. Reed caught Matt with Stundog Millionaire. Reed went for “Flame On,” but Jeff was able to block it, and Jeff shoved Reed into a Twist of Fate on the floor. Back in the ring, Jeff hit the Swanton Bomb on Reed and got the pinfall.

After the match, both teams hugged it out and celebrated, and the Hardys raised the Rascalz hands after the match, signaling to the crowd that the Rascalz time is coming.

First Class Penthouse: AJ Fancis and Rich Swann learned how to be successful in Maryland and then as soon as they could.. they moved away from Maryland! They started to run down Maryland until the Baltimore Ravens mascot “Poe” came out. Francis threatened Poe, who called out The System for the help. Alicia Edwards slapped Francis after he got in her face. Francis and Swann leave, and Poe does Ray Lewis’ entrance dance. This felt unnecessary this late in the show. It would have made a great “fire up the crowd before the ppv starts” pre-show segment.

Trick Williams defeated Moose to retain the TNA World Championship (16:43)

Hannifan on commentary screamed about Williams wearing the belt upside down. And the crowd is solidly behind the invader Trick, until he trashed the Ravens in favor of the Philadelphia Eagles. Even then, Williams remained a solid babyface. It’s kind of the problem with this TNA/NXT “feud” from the TNA side. In the eyes of the TNA viewer, Trick is supposed to be the invader who has taken their world title hostage, but he was the most over babyface on the show!

Moose chopped Williams around the ring and ringside. Moose went for a powerbomb on the floor, but Williams escaped with a rana. Moose hit Williams with a boot, but Williams dodged a charge and sent Moose shoulder first into the ring steps. Williams whipped Moose into the ringpost. Williams took Moose over to the side of the crowd where his family was sitting a chopped away at him.

Back in the ring, Moose hit a reverse top rope crossbody to bring the crowd to their feet. Williams recovered quickly and sent Moose into the turnbuckle with an overhead belly to belly suplex.

Williams slowed the match down with a guillotine while the crowd engaged in a dueling “Moose/Whoop that Trick!” chants. Williams drove Moose down with a flapjack and kipped back up.

Moose and Trick exchanged chops. Williams hit a leaping hangman’s neckbreaker for a near fall. More dueling “Moose/Trick” chants while Trick unloaded on Moose with forearms. Moose came back with an uranage and a senton for a near fall. Williams hit a pump kick, but Moose came back with a pop up powerbomb for a near fall. Williams caught Moose charging with a cradle, then dropped him with an uranage for a near fall.

Moose battled out of a suplex attempt and chopped Williams. Moose delivered a top rope superplex and rolled through to deliver another move, but Williams countered with a suplex of his own. For the first time tonight when the crowd chanted “This is Awesome!” they were correct.

Williams dodged the discus clothesline but ran into a spear from Moose. Before Moose could cover, Williams rolled to the floor. On the floor, Moose ran towards Williams and right into a backdrop through a table! Williams tossed Moose back into the ring. Williams accidentally hit the ref with a clothesline. Moose hit a spear, but there was no ref to make the count.

Williams charged at Moose, who sent him into the turnbuckle with a buckle bomb. Moose charged, but Williams caught him with a Trick Shot. The ref recovered to count, but Moose kicked out! Moose hit a big headbutt, but missed a spear. Williams hit a Trick Shot to the back of Moose’s head, then hit a second to the side of the head. This was enough to hold Moose down for the pinfall.

This main event delivered big time.

After the match, Carlos Silva presented Williams with the TNA World Championship.

So after the show went off the air, (the picture was off but the audio was still on) Santino Marella promised he’d make a huge announcement at the Impact tapings tomorrow night, and Hannafin and Rehwoldt thanked the crew.

The opener and main event were really good, the tag title match was okay and the rest was hit or miss.
