Paul Heyman offers Will Ospreay an Evolve contract
In a surprise angle at the Paul Heyman “Inside the Ropes” talk show in London at York Hall, Heyman offered an Evolve contract to Will Ospreay.
Ospreay, who regularly works at the venue for Revolution Pro Wrestling, including on Sunday, and is their cruiserweight champion, had been announced as a special guest at the show. Heyman said he was offering the deal on behalf of Gabe Sapolsky.
It was also made clear this deal wouldn’t affect Ospreay’s current contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Ospreay had worked for Evolve in Dallas over WrestleMania weekend, including doing a singles match with Ricochet prior to their much-talked about match in Tokyo.
Ospreay returns to Japan on July 20th in the first round of the Super J-Cup, where he faces CMLL star Titan.
He’s become the biggest favorite on the local scene since he became the first British wrestler to win the Best of the Super Juniors tournament with New Japan in June.
Heyman is in the U.K. this week doing a series of talk shows.
