Steve Maclin makes first appearance after leaving TNA
Earlier this week, Steve Maclin departed from TNA Wrestling. Tonight, he was in action in a new home.
Pro Wrestling Revolver announced a few days ago that Maclin would be on tonight’s show, entitled No Country for Old Mancer, in Dayton, Ohio. Maclin cut a promo hyping up the show, threatening his opponent, Joe Alonzo.
As Maclin made his entrance, he looked into the camera and appeared to shout “I told that cuck I quit.” This may have been a reference to his last match in TNA, during which he called TNA president Carlos Silva a “cuck” and told him to sit down. Silva, at the time, appeared amused.
Alonzo would go on to defeat Maclin after interference by his faction, the Algorithm. Alonzo hit a low blow and pinned Maclin while grabbing the ropes.
Maclin has announced appearances for Pro Wrestling Entertainment, Fight Factory Wrestling, and Produce in the coming weeks.
Maclin won one Impact World Championshp and two International Championships in TNA. After being fired in storyline earlier this year, he returned to challenge Mike Santana for the World Championship twice, getting legitimately knocked out the first time and getting pinned the second.
It was also reported that he had re-signed with TNA in January, but just a few months later he asked for and was granted his release.
