Stardom is easing up on its fan social media guidelines in hopes of gaining more exposure.

The Japanese women’s wrestling promotion sent out an announcement today stating that it is no longer outright prohibiting fans from taking videos at their events. However, there are still restrictions like limiting videos to no more than 30 seconds, requiring that entrance music is muted or replaced, and making sure that taking these videos does not disrupt other fans or the wrestlers. The policy includes rules regarding photography, posting, editing, monetization, and the use of AI.

“These guidelines aim to spread the appeal of Stardom to more people through the submission of photos, videos, impressions, fan art, and other content by fans,” Stardom wrote. “With the establishment of these guidelines, video recording at venues, which was previously prohibited, will now be permitted under certain conditions.”

Taro Okada, Stardom’s present, said he is always trying to make the environment around the promotion better and asked fans to continue with their enthusiastic support and cooperation.

“This decision is made so that all of you fans can enjoy yourselves, and so that Stardom can spread even further and wider,” Okada said. “The fundamental principle is to ensure that athletes, the organization, all of you fans, and those who will become fans in the future can enjoy themselves without causing any trouble to anyone.”

Stardom set for 5 Star Grand Prix —

Stardom’s announcement comes in advance of the promotion’s annual 5 Star Grand Prix tournament beginning this weekend. The first night on July 18, along with the final two nights on August 18 and August 23, will have English commentary available. Stardom also recently launched a global YouTube channel aimed at English-speaking fans.

In addition to tournament action, night one of the 5 Star Grand Prix will include AEW’s Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart & Skye Blue) challenging Ami Sohrei, Hina & Lady C for the Artist of Stardom Championship.
