AAA star stretchered out following top rope botch
Top AAA star Octagon Jr. had to be stretchered out following a scary top rope botch during Noche de Los Grandes 2026.
Week 1 of the Lucha Libre AAA Noche de Los Grandes took place at the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey. After the scheduled four matches of the night, AAA also taped another multi-man match.
Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, Lince Dorado, Mini Vikingo, and Octagon Jr. faced each other in a fatal five-way match. The taped match will air in the second week of Noche de Los Grandes on June 6, 2026.
However, mid-way through the bout, Wilde executed a top rope DDT on Octagon Jr. However, Octagon Jr. landed awkwardly on the mat from the top rope.
Octagon Jr. landed flat on his neck, as Wilde immediately checked out Octagon Jr. Shortly after, fan videos from the arena started going viral online, showing the exact spot.
Octagon Jr. has seemingly suffered a serious neck injury and had to be taken out on a stretcher in the middle of the match. As of now, no official update has been shared on his injury or recovery status.
