Chelsea Green sustains injury, replaced in AAA Mixed Tag Team title defense

Chelsea Green WWE

Chelsea Green recently suffered a foot injury and was pulled from a AAA Mixed Tag Team title match on Saturday’s AAA on Fox.

Originally scheduled to defend alongside Ethan Page against Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana on Saturday. Appearing on the broadcast via FaceTime, Green alerted Page that she would not be able to make it to the match. Showing her foot in a walking boot, Green announced her injury. The injury was also later confirmed by our Bryan Alvarez.

No further details or information have emerged on Green’s injury, and the severity or potential in-ring return timeline is currently unknown. She last wrestled on Friday’s WWE SmackDown in a three-way Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. Corey Graves revealed on commentary that is where the injury was sustained.

Green was replaced by the 28-year-old La Hiedra, who teamed up with Page to face Vice and Mr. Iguana. However, falling short, Vice pinned Hiedra to become the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions.

Moments after Page and Hiedra lost the Mixed Tag Team titles, Green uploaded the image of her injury on social media, launching a rant on AAA for allowing Page to defend the titles.

“The AUDACITY of [Lucha Libre AAA] to throw [Ethan Page] into a match like that after I almost ended my career on Smackdown last night from a near fatal fall.”
