MARCELA & ESTRELLITA & VAQUERIGTA VS. DALLYS & ZEUXIS & AMAPOLA
Sloppy match but all action and very good crowd heat. Estrellita pinned Dallys in the first fall with a backslide and bridge. Second fall saw the Zeuxis team lost via DQ when she pulled off her own mask trying to fool the ref, but he saw and and wasn't fooled.
CAVERNARIO VS. REY COMETA
This was annoucned as 2/3 falls. First fall was quick with Cavernario winning with a reverse splash. Second fall saw Cometa win with a spin under armdrag and pin. Third fall was Cavernario winning clean with La Cavernaria. Good match but you could see they were rushed for time. Both did some cool dives.
BLUE PANTHER & THE PANTHER & BLUE PANTHER JR. VS. NEGRO CASAS & TIGER & PUMA
They are so rushing through these matches. The ring entrances are being sped through. A fun match although there were a few spots where the youjger guys got lost. The crowd was super into whenever Negro and Blue Sr. were in togehter and in the third fall Negro won clean over Blue Sr. with the scorpion deathlock. Good dives. The Panther, Tiger and Puma are going to be big stars. Blue Jr. is more of a bodybuiler type. Blue Sr. in particular had a good night here.
VOLADOR JR. VS. MEPHISTO
This was great, but it was very much a Volador's greatest hits match,. He did exactly what he does in every major singles match which is admittedly a super match. They did two quick falls and the long third fall with all the near falls. It felt more like a Volador showcase with all of his dives including a springboard plancha over the guard rail, Asai moonsault, running flip dive and a springboard huracanrana off the baricade among other things. Volador won clean with the Spanish fly. The crowd was going pretty wild for all of this. It just felt like Mephisto didn't do a lot.
They announced Rayo de Jalisco Jr. here next Friday. I guess they have to do something with all the top stars in Japan.
RUSH & LA MASCARA VS. MARCO CORLEONE & MAXIMO SEXY
The good is the match had super heat. Women were going crazy for everyone but Maximo, and especially for Marco. They were clearly rushed on time so Rush didn't do his usual job of working the crowd. The first fall saw Marco do the Air Italia on both for a double pin. The second fall saw Mascara accidentally kick Rush. Maximo kissed Mascara and then Rush kicked Maximo low and the ref saw it and called for the DQ. Too many crowd shots of the same woman losing it every time Marco did something.
VALIENTE VS. ULTIMO GUERRERO
This was a great match as well. It had the most heat of the singles matches but one thing is that with no titles or hair or masks at stake, the importance of the finish is diminished. The near falls aren't as hot as usually for the big singles matches. Because Ultimo is such a superstar the crowd was really into this one. Valiente won the first fall with the Indian deathlock and Guerrero the second with Pulo Guerrero. They did the long third fall with Valiente at one point doing four straight topes as well as a great Ibushi style moonsault to the floor. Finally after surviving most of Guerrero's big moves, Valiente used two tombstones into codebreakers and got the clean pin.
ATLANTIS & CARISTICO & MISTICO VS. NIEBLA ROJA & GRAN GUERRERO & EUFORIA
So they rushed through this show so fast they ended 27 minutes early. This had the most heat as the crowd was so into Mistico and especially Caristico. Caristico looked much better than usual as the crowd was so into him and he was doing all kinds of crazy stuff and playing to the crowd. It was funny because in the prior match, they were really into Guerrero and booing Valiente and those kind of crowds usually will be Caristico and Mistico. They won't boo Atlantis because he's the legend. Another great match, maybe a little rushed. Euforia is one of these guys gets no credit but is just a super worker who makes he faces shine. This was just a match to please the big crowd with a triple submission third fall finish with Atlantis doing the torture rack while Caristico and Mistico each did La Mistica. Aside from rushing the matches so fast and cutting back on ring entrances, and no mic work or challenges, it felt like as an experiment, this worked. If nothing else, it was the deepest card as far as quality went in a long time.
