CMLL notes: Thunder Rosa dual contract confirmed, date for MLW joint event

Thunder Rosa officially joins CMLL

Notes from Friday’s CMLL show at Arena Mexico.

During the show it was announced that Rosa, who was in the ring, had signed a dual contract with CMLL. Earlier on Friday, Fightful had reported that the “working plan” was for Rosa to be offered a dual deal.

Rosa expressed hopes to secure such a deal in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated.

“Really you gonna ask me that question? Of course I’m interested in something like that,” Rosa said at the time. “It’s a big deal, it is such a big deal and it’s such an honor when they recognize you to be somebody to be part of their organization. Absolutely, it would be an honor.”

Elsewhere on the show, it was announced that CMLL will have its joint show with MLW on Friday, May 1 at Arena Mexico. The two promotions have enjoyed a strong working relationship in recent years, with Ultimo Guerrero and Blue Panther battling for the National Openweight title in Mexico last year.

CMLL held a similar joint event with MLW last May. Top matches from that card had Mistico defeating KUSHIDA, Ultimo Guerrero defeating Matthew Justice for the National Openweight title, and Neon taking on Paul London in a match that ended in a no contest.
