La Catalina reportedly set to sign with AAA in historic move

La Catalina CMLL

Hours after her CMLL departure, La Catalina is reportedly set to make a historic move and potentially sign with AAA.

La Catalina parted ways with CMLL when her contract expired at the start of April 2026. Now, according to a recent report by Luchablog, it was noted that La Catalina will debut for AAA on Saturday, April 11, and make history.

If she successfully makes her debut for AAA, she will become the first talent to jump from CMLL to AAA after WWE purchased AAA last year in 2025. She was previously with WWE from 2019 to 2021. She was also a part of the WWE roster from 2019 to 2021, where she was known as Carolina and Catalina.

La Catalina is the pick up AAA’s needed since WWE took over. She’s not the biggest possible name to jump, but she’s the one who fills the most obvious need. WWE/TKO believes in having strong marketable women’s stars, the AAA roster they took over did not have many women that fit WWE’s conventional thought process about female stars,” the report read.

La Catalina, 25, has also worked CMLL matches against former AEW champions Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone.

As per CMLL’s statements, it was noted that it was Catalina’s decision not to renew her contract with the promotion.
