Natalya ‘truly honored’ by AEW star’s tribute at Forbidden Door

WWE star Natalya acknowledged Mercedes Mone’s nod to the Hart Family at AEW Forbidden Door.

Mone defeated Maya World in the Owen Hart Cup Finals at the PPV. She donned black and pink wrestling gear and hair, similar to the Hart Family’s colors. Amanda Huber pointed out the look inspiration and labelled Mone ‘the goat’. Natalya responded that she was honored with the gesture.

“Truly honored. Low-key Legend x GOAT,” posted Natalya.

AEW officially launched the tournament in 2021 in association with the Owen Hart Foundation. Initially, the winners received a trophy but since 2024, they earned a World Title opportunity at AEW All In.

With this victory, Mone will face Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Title on August 30 at Wembley Stadium, London.

Meanwhile, Natalya and Mone have history in the ring. When Mone returned WWE in August 2019, she instigated an unsuspecting attack on an injured Natalya which sparked her heel turn. And it culminated in a singles match at SummerSlam that year.
