Four new matches announced for NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed

A tag team preview of the Wrestle Kingdom 18 main event is one of four new bouts set for NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed.

Before they lock horns on January 4 at the Tokyo Dome, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA and his Wrestle Kingdom 18 challenger Tetsuya Naito will be on opposite sides of a tag team battle at Fighting Spirit Unleashed, as SANADA & Yuya Uemura team against Naito & Hiromu Takahashi.

A number one contender’s match to decide Eddie Kingston’s next challenger for the NJPW Strong Openweight title is also set for Fighting Spirit Unleashed, as Jeff Cobb, Satoshi Kojima, Fred Rosser, & Alex Coughlin face off in a four-way. 

The NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team titles will also be on the line on October 28 at Fighting Spirit Unleashed, with new champs El Phantasmo & Hikuleo defending against Lance Archer & Alex Zayne. 

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor will also be in action on the show in singles competition against Gabe Kidd. 

A total of eight matches are now set for the Saturday, October 28 event. The show will air on FITE TV pay-per-view.

  • NJPW Strong Women’s Championship: Giulia defends against Hyan
  • NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship: El Phantasmo & Hikuleo defend against Lance Archer & Alex Zayne
  • NJPW Strong Openweight Championship number one contender’s match: Jeff Cobb vs. Satoshi Kojima vs. Alex Coughlin vs. Fred Rosser
  • SANADA & Yuya Uemura vs. Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi
  • Stephanie Vaquer & Zeuxis vs. Lluvia & Johnnie Robbie
  • Atlantis, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Mistico & Atlantis Jr. vs. Rocky Romero, Tiger Mask, Soberano Jr. & Adrian Quest
