KOPW 2020 challengers official for NJPW Summer Struggle in Jingu

The competitors for the four-way match to determine the preliminary NJPW 2020 King of Pro Wrestling are set after today's Summer Struggle show in Korakuen Hall.

Four first round matches took place today with special stipulations that were chosen by fan vote.

El Desperado defeated Satoshi Kojima in a no finishers allowed match. Kojima's lariat and Desperado's Pinche Loco were banned. Kojima used the lariat and Desperado won by disqualification.

Toru Yano defeated BUSHI in a two-count pinfall match. BUSHI taped Yano's feet together and tried a magistral cradle but Yano reversed the cradle and scored the pin.

SANADA defeated SHO in a submission match. SHO worked on SANADA's left arm for the bulk of the match. SANADA focused his attack on SHO's legs before ultimately winning with a figure four.

The main event of the show saw Kazuchika Okada defeat Yujiro Takahashi, Gedo & Jado in a handicap match when Okada submitted Gedo with a Cobra Clutch.

Today's winners will wrestle on Saturday in Jingu. The winner will be declared the preliminary KOPW and will defend the title for the rest of the year. The title holder at the end of the year will be declared NJPW KOPW 2020.
