NJPW reveals 51st Anniversary show, New Japan Cup dates

NJPW has announced the dates and venues for this year’s New Japan Cup and 51st Anniversary show.  

The tournament kicks off from Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall on Sunday, March 5, 2023, and will run until the finals on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from Nagaoka. 

2023 New Japan Cup dates:

  • Sunday, March 5, Korakuen Hall 
  • Wednesday, March 8, Big Palette Fukushima 
  • Friday, March 10, I-messe Yamanashi
  • Saturday, March 11, Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium
  • Monday, March 13, Item Ehime
  • Saturday, March 18th, Act City Hamamatsu 
  • Tuesday, March 21 (Vernal Equinox Day) Aore Nagaoka (Finals)

NJPW has also announced it will present its annual anniversary show on Monday, March 6 from Ota Ward General Gymnasium.

The madness of March is nearly here! New Japan Cup this year kicks off March 5 in Korakuen and runs to March 21! Plus, March 6, it’s the 51st anniversary of NJPW right where it all began in Ota! Stay tuned for more details!

Last year’s tournament was won by Zack Sabre Jr., who had previously won the cup in 2018 as well. ZSJ would go on to lose an IWGP Heavyweight Championship match against Kazuchika Okada at Hyper Battle 2022.
