NJPW World Tag League 2025 night five results, updated standings
NJPW’s World Tag League continued on Wednesday with an event in Miyagi.
Four A Block matches took place on the show. After three rounds, five teams are tied atop the group with 2-1 records and 4 points.
Gabe Kidd and Yota Tsuji improved to 2-1 with a win over Yujiro Takahashi and Chase Owens (0-3) in the opening tournament match. The finish saw Takahashi attempt to use his cane on Tsuji while Owens had the referee distracted. Kidd ran in and grabbed the cane out of Takahashi’s hand and this led to him and Tsuji hitting a few double team moves on Takahashi before their War Blaster spear/clothesline combo for the win.
El Desperado and Shuji Ishikawa (2-1) picked up their second win of the tournament with a win over Satoshi Kojima and Taichi (1-2). The finish saw Kojima and Taichi looking as though they were in control of the match when Desperado countered a lariat by Kojima into a pinning combination for three. Despite getting the pin for his team, Desperado had to be carried to the back by his teammate after the win. Taichi and Kojima bowed to each other in the ring after as Walker Stewart mentioned on commentary that the makeshift team has vowed to give this tournament their best.
House of Torture tactics factored into the semi-main event of the night, allowing EVIL and Don Fale to improve to 2-1 and drop the War Dragons team of Shingo Takagi and Drilla Moloney down to 1-2. The finish saw Fale distract the referee as Dick Togo came in and low-blowed Moloney before throwing powder in the eyes of Takagi, allowing EVIL to hit his finish and get the pin.
Toru Yano and Boltin Oleg went into today as the only undefeated team in the group, but Bishamon put an end to that in the main event. The finish saw Goto kick out of Yano’s low blow and cradle attempt before Bishamon hit Shoto on Yano for the three count. YOSHI-HASHI brought out YOH after, and the three celebrated in the ring to close the show.
