Blake Monroe to defend North American title on next WWE NXT

A Women’s North American title defense is part of the announced card for the December 16 WWE NXT.

Blake Monroe will defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Thea Hail on the Tuesday, December 16 episode. The bout was announced during this week’s show following an angle where the entire women’s locker room answered an open challenge from Monroe, and Hail even submitted Monroe with a kimura, but the match had never officially started.

A new number one contender to Oba Femi’s NXT Championship will also be decided on next week’s WWE NXT TV.

The runners-up from the Iron Survivor Challenge at last weekend’s Deadline will square off in a four-way with the winner challenging Femi for the NXT title at New Year’s Evil on January 6. Joe Hendry, Myles Borne, Leon Slater, and Dion Lennox will compete in the four-way.

Je’Von Evans won the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline and was set to challenge at New Year’s Evil, but demanded his title shot on this week’s NXT TV and lost.

A tag team bout is also set for next week’s show, with the returning Hank Walker and Tank Ledger facing Lucien Price and Bronco Nima of OTM.
