Bloodline family member makes WWE NXT debut
Zilla Fatu is officially in NXT.
Fatu interrupted the main event between Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller on Tuesday in a match that was set to determine the number one contender for Tony D’Angelo’s NXT Championship, causing a disqualification. After attacking both men, he gave splashes to both Montana and Waller then set his sights on D’Angelo at ringside, telling him that there was a new sheriff in town.
Unlike other recent signings, Vic Joseph on commentary went out of his way to identify Zilla Fatu under that name, meaning he will very likely use it in WWE.
It had been reported in recent weeks that Fatu was likely heading to the WWE Performance Center after finishing independent commitments.
Who is Zilla Fatu?
Fatu, 26, is the son of late WWE star Umaga and part of the larger Anoa’i family that includes Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Solo Sikoa. He started wrestling in 2023 and was trained by Booker T, wrestling regularly for Reality of Wrestling.
During his time on the independent scene he won the 4th Rope Heavyweight title as well as the House of Glory Crown Jewel Championship. He recently dropped the latter to Amazing Red at HOG High Intensity on August 8.
