First WWE NXT Gold Rush title match revealed
The Women’s NXT North American title will be defended at NXT Gold Rush.
A vignette featuring new champion Blake Monroe aired on Tuesday where she declared that her first title match would be taking place next month in a place most fitting for her, New York City. She said that when you chase the glamour, hell isn’t too far behind. She is not your hero, she is a reminder that beauty can bleed and still smile while doing so.
Monroe won the title this past weekend at NXT Halloween Havoc, defeating Zaria who was defending the title on behalf of Sol Ruca, who is out of action with a knee injury. The finish had Monroe shoving Zaria into Ruca at ringside. The confusion that caused gave Monroe the opening to deliver a double arm DDT to Zaria at ringside. She followed with a second in the ring to win the championship.
The title match will be part of the two-week NXT Gold Rush event that begins on November 18 at MSG Theatre in New York City. Another show will be taped that night and will air the following week.
