Four-way number one contender’s match set for WWE NXT

A four-way match to determine the number one contender to Carmelo Hayes’ NXT Championship is set for Tuesday’s WWE NXT episode.

WWE announced on social media on Friday that a four-way will be held on the next NXT show, with the winner named the new top contender to Carmelo Hayes’ title. Hayes will then defend the title against the winner at NXT’s Spring Breakin’ episode, the date of which has yet to be announced.

Hayes defeated Bron Breakker at Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 1 to win the NXT Championship. On the following episode of NXT, they executed a double turn, with Hayes becoming a babyface and Breakker going heel when Breakker attacked Hayes.

Last year’s Spring Breakin’ episode of NXT aired in the first week of May.

Two more matches and two other segments have already been announced for the Tuesday, April 11 NXT episode. The updated lineup:

  • Four-way match to determine the number one contender to Carmelo Hayes’ NXT Championship
  • NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship: Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn defend against Fallon Henley & Kiana James
  • Ilja Dragunov vs. Von Wagner — If Wagner loses, Mr. Stone will walk away
  • Chase U MVP ceremony for Duke Hudson
