Injured WWE wrestler shares update following surgery
Ridge Holland posted a video to social media following his recent surgery.
Holland was injured at TNA Wrestling’s TV tapings in Edmonton last week. He was wrestling Moose and appeared to injure his foot. The match was stopped and Holland was helped to the back as he was unable to put weight on his left leg. He’d later post to social media that he would need surgery for a Lisfranc injury, which is the middle part of the foot that helps stabilize the foot’s arch when walking.
Following the surgery, Holland posted a video to social media on Saturday, where he says:
“So just laying here, just taking me painkillers, taking me some lovely hydrocodone, which takes the edge off slightly.”
“For the past seven years it’s been a bit of a bumpy ride with the wrestling business. Just as I start to get rolling something happens, same again this time. TNA, a couple of good matches and then this happens. But again, we heal, we recover, we march forward and I’m looking forward to coming back and getting in the best shape of my life.“
“I’m using all these injuries and all these ups and downs. I’m using it as a lesson to my kids and anyone else that wants to take notice that it doesn’t matter what happens to you, really. There’s always a way back if you just believe.”
The night before Holland suffered the injury in his match against Moose, he lost to Mike Santana in a singles match at TNA Victory Road. He’d also been wrestling on EVOLVE of late, having defeated Tate Wilder on the episode that aired on September 10.
