More on Nikki Blackheart’s WWE NXT name | Exclusive
An update on Nikki Blackheart’s WWE name.
Bryan Alvarez is reporting that trademark issues are holding up whatever name is planned for Blackheart, who made her televised NXT debut on Tuesday’s show.
“Apparently some trademark things involving Nikki Blackheart aren’t finalized, which is why she had no name whatsoever in her NXT debut last night. But she’ll likely have a name by this time next week,” he wrote.
Blackheart quickly made an impact on NXT
In the main event of NXT, Kelani Jordan defeated Tatum Paxley after the two ended up brawling earlier in the night. As Paxley recovered in the ring, Blackheart entered and wiped out the former Women’s North American Champion, then locked her in a torture rack to end the show. Throughout the assault, announcer Vic Joseph did not name the newest NXT wrestler but said that “we all know who that is” and also claimed that she was “one of the most talked about women in the industry today.”
Blackheart is a former cheerleader for the Florida Panthers and trained under Gangrel. After being on WWE’s radar for some time, she made her in-ring debut in a dark match last month. Since then, she has wrestled several times using the name Martinez.
