New number one contender for men’s WWE Speed Championship crowned
A new number one contender for the men’s Speed Championship has been set.
Tavion Heights quickly took care of Lexis King on Tuesday’s show, pinning him in eight seconds after a belly-to-belly suplex. With the quick win, Heights will now move on to face Jasper Troy for the men’s Speed Championship, though a date has yet to be determined. After Heights’ quick victory, Troy appeared near the ramp as the two had a staredown.
Troy has been champion since November 11, defeating then-champion El Grande Americano. A mini-tournament took place starting last week where King defeated Andre Chase in one semifinal match while Tavion Heights defeated EVOLVE standout Eli Knight in another.
The Women’s Speed Championship was also decided recently after Sol Ruca chose to vacate the championship due to a storyline injury. Fallon Henley defeated Zaria late last month to become the new champion.
Next week’s NXT will be New Year’s Evil, the first CW special of 2026. Top matches involve Oba Femi defending the NXT Championship against TNA star Leon Slater and NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne defending against EVOLVE Women’s Champion Kendal Grey.
