North American title match official for January 22 NXT episode
After winning tonight’s fatal four-way number one contender’s match, Keith Lee will be getting his NXT North American title shot in two weeks time.
WWE has announced that North American Champion Roderick Strong will defend his title against Lee on the January 22 episode of NXT. Lee got the title shot by defeating Cameron Grimes, Damian Priest, and Dominik Dijakovic in tonight’s fatal four-way match.
The finish to the fatal four-way was Lee pinning Grimes after hitting the Spirit Bomb.
Strong has been North American Champion since winning the title from Velveteen Dream on NXT’s USA Network premiere on September 18.
For next week’s NXT, three matches have been announced. A battle royal will decide NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley’s challenger for TakeOver: Portland, and the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag team Classic will conclude with Kushida & Alex Shelley vs. The Grizzled Young Veterans and Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne vs. Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster.
