North American title match part of updated lineup for next week’s WWE NXT

A North American title match is part of the updated lineup for next week’s NXT show.

The main event of this week’s show saw Ethan Page retain the North American title over Shiloh Hill after the Vanity Project interfered. After the match, Myles Borne came out and helped Hill take out the Vanity Project, allowing Borne to target Page. He wrapped a chair around Page’s ankle and demanded a North American title match. Page agreed to a title match for next week but then mocked Borne, saying he knew Borne wouldn’t go through injuring his leg. Borne then went ahead and Pillmanized Page to close out the show.

Eli Knight and Elio LeFleur went to a time limit draw on Tuesday, leaving the men’s Speed title match next week in question. Robert Stone came out and said while normally Jasper Troy would retain his title in this situation, he will do something different instead, turning next week’s title match into a triple threat. In addition, the match will be held under a seven minute time limit as opposed to the normal five.

Earlier in the show, Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor became the new number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team titles, with Baylor pinning Shawn Spears of the Culling to earn the title match for next week.

With the conclusion of the men’s tournament, a women’s tournament will start next week. The first match will see Blake Monroe challenge Thea Hail. Uriah Connors will also meet Kale Dixion in a battle between former tag team partners.
