Tegan Nox becomes number one contender to NXT Women’s title

Tegan Nox is first in line for a shot at Io Shirai’s NXT Women’s Championship.

Nox became the number one contender to Shirai’s title by defeating Dakota Kai, Mia Yim, and Candice LeRae in a fatal four-way elimination match at Great American Bash night one tonight. WWE hasn’t announced when Nox will be getting her title shot.

LeRae was first to be eliminated from tonight’s four-way match. The match then came down to Nox vs. Kai after Yim was eliminated. Nox got the win after hitting a Molly-Go-Round and the Shiniest Wizard.

Shirai was in action in this week’s main event, defeating Sasha Banks in a non-title match. After interference by Bayley, Asuka got involved and spit green mist in Banks’ eyes. Banks kicked out of a roll-up attempt by Shirai after that, but Shirai got the win after hitting a moonsault from the top rope.

Shirai became NXT Women’s Champion by defeating Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match at TakeOver: In Your House last month.
