Title change at NXT UK television tapings

It appears that NXT UK has new tag team champions.

Wrestling Inc reports that Oliver Carter & Ashton Smith won the NXT UK Tag Team titles at a set of NXT UK tapings on Thursday, defeating Moustache Mountain and Die Familie in a triple threat match. Tyler Bate & Trent Seven were the champions heading into the match.

There was an angle later in the tapings where Seven turned against Bate. Seven faked like he was going to announce his retirement before the turn.

Carter & Smith defeated Gallus and Die Familie defeated Dave Mastiff & Jack Starz in matches at NXT UK’s TV tapings on Wednesday.

This was Carter & Smith’s third time challenging Moustache Mountain for the NXT UK Tag Team titles. On the NXT UK episode that aired this week, Moustache Mountain retained against Carter & Smith in a two-out-of-three falls match.

WWE has been building to a split between Bate and Seven, with Bate being unhappy that Seven has cheated to win their matches. In the two-out-of-three falls match, Moustache Mountain won the deciding fall when Seven put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage when pinning Carter.
