Update on Trick Williams following WWE NXT main event

  • Ian Carey

Trick Williams took a nasty shot to the head on an attempted spear during his match with Ricky Saints on WWE NXT this week.

Midway through Tuesday’s main event, Saints moved out of the way as Williams came charging toward him, causing Williams to crash through the barricade at ringside. While the barricade appeared to have been gimmicked, the guardrail behind it was not. Williams’ head can be seen smashing into a beam of the guardrail before a referee checks on him.

Our own Bryan Alvarez provided an update on the situation to his subscribers on X, writing:

“Trick busted his head wide open when he went through the barricade and accidentally hit his head on a metal beam. Ref asked if he was OK and Trick said yes, at which point the ref asked, ‘ARE YOU SURE?’”

Saints later won after spearing his opponent through the announce table. He was then confronted by the returning former NXT Champion Oba Femi before the show went off the air.

Alvarez’s full report from last night’s show is available here.

Footage of the spot is available at the 6-minute and 37-second mark of the below video:
