WWE announces NXT UK Women’s title match for next week

NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray’s next title defense is set.

WWE has announced that KLR will defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Jinny on NXT UK next Thursday. Jinny became the number one contender to KLR’s title by defeating Piper Niven last week.

Jinny got help from Joseph Conners during her match against Niven last Thursday. In a promo on this week’s NXT UK, Jinny offered an explanation for her alliance with Conners. Jinny said she’s a woman of wealth and with money comes power and connections.

Ahead of their title match, KLR and Jinny took part in a face-to-face segment on NXT UK this week. KLR said she’s beaten everyone who’s been put in front of her — and Jinny isn’t going to be any different. Jinny said KLR may have defeated all of her other challengers, but she hasn’t faced Jinny. Jinny said she’s championship material and KLR isn’t.

Jinny also claimed that the only reason KLR is still champion is because Jinny got involved in her falls count anywhere match against Niven in November.

KLR has been NXT UK Women’s Champion since winning the title from Toni Storm at UK TakeOver: Cardiff in August 2019.
