WWE announces ‘special edition’ of NXT for Philadelphia next month
WWE has announced a special episode of WWE NXT for August.
On Monday, the promotion revealed that the Tuesday, August 19 edition of the show will air live from The Met in Philadelphia. The August 18 edition of WWE Raw will also be in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Arena.
The Met is five miles away from the 2300 Arena, where AEW will begin a residency the following week, starting with the August 27 edition of Dynamite.
WWE’s press release reads:
“July 7, 2025 – WWE®, part of TKO Group Holdings (NYSE: TKO), today announced that a special edition of NXT will take place Tuesday, August 19 at The Met Philadelphia. The episode will air live on The CW starting at 8pm ET.
Tickets will go on sale starting Wednesday, July 9 at 10am ET/7am PT via Ticketmaster.com. Fans can purchase tickets during an exclusive pre-sale by visiting Ticketmaster.com and using the code NXTLIVE starting Tuesday, July 8 at 10am ET/7am PT until 11:59pm ET/8:59pm PT.
In November 2023, WWE and The CW announced a five-year agreement to bring NXT to broadcast television for the first time in its 13-year history. NXT joins a growing roster of live sports on The CW, including the NASCAR Xfinity Series, ACC football and basketball games, Pac-12 football games, Grand Slam Track and AVP beach volleyball.”
The WWE main roster will be in Europe later that week. They begin the Road to Clash in Paris tour in Dublin, Ireland with the Friday, August 22 edition of SmackDown. The tour continues with stops in Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and Cardiff before heading to Lyon, France for SmackDown on August 29, and then to Paris for the PLE on August 31. Raw the following night will also take place in Paris.
AEW’s scheduled shows in Philadelphia during that period include Dynamite on August 27, Collision on August 30, Dynamite on September 3, ROH Death Before Dishonor on September 5, Collision on September 6, Dynamite on September 10, and Collision on September 11.
