WWE NXT episode ends with Tony D’Angelo cliffhanger
Tuesday’s WWE NXT episode ended with a Sopranos-style cliffhanger.
Tony D’Angelo sat at a restaurant table about to eat when he was interrupted by an unseen figure. In a nod to the infamous series finale of The Sopranos, the scene faded to black before we learned of D’Angelo’s fate:
D’Angelo seemingly wrapped his lengthy storyline involving the members of his D’Angelo Family on the July 15 NXT TV episode, defeating Luca Crusifino and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in a triple threat match.
The cliffhanger leaves open several possibilities for the D’Angelo character, whether it be a main roster call-up, a continuation of the issues with Crusifino and Lorenzo, or the start of a new feud in NXT.
D’Angelo is a former two-time NXT Tag Team Champion, former Heritage Cup Champion, and former NXT North American Champion. He made his in-ring debut for WWE in 2021 as part of the NXT 2.0 reboot.
