WWE quietly retires an NXT championship
Active for a significant period of time, WWE has now quietly retired the WWE NXT Heritage Cup Championship.
As pointed out by fans, the NXT Heritage Cup championship was recently removed from the champion section on WWE’s roster page. According to the Wayback Machine, the title was still visible on the page at the end of May, 2026.
Fans have expected this move for a while, as WWE has not featured the title on NXT programming since Tony D’Angelo tossed it off a bridge in July 2025. The title was first introduced in 2020 for the NXT UK brand. Throughout its history, it has been held by names such as Tyler Bate, Noam Dar, A-Kid, Mark Coffey, Lexis King, Nathan Frazer, and Channing Lorenzo. Dar boasts the longest reign with the title at 341 days.
Lorenzo was the last champion, having won the title in June 2025. While the title is not active currently, Lorenzo is still technically the champion and is continuing his reign at 345 days.
